Tribal Voodoo Mask
Unique Sculpture – Tribal Voodoo Mask (Original Commissioned Piece)
This striking sculpture, measuring 50 x 110 cm and weighing approximately 20 kg, is meticulously crafted from modeled clay and polished cement, resulting in a solid, durable structure with a powerful visual presence.
The piece is entirely hand-painted, featuring a refined malachite-colored enamel finish enhanced with intense gold enamel details, creating depth, contrast, and a vibrant character. At its center, a natural blue quartz serves as a symbolic and energetic focal point.
The metal elements, made of bronze, are finished with various enamel applications, while the eyes are crafted from cut crystal, giving the sculpture a penetrating and lifelike gaze.
This artwork was commissioned by my friend David, based on an original concept by Ozzie for the new bar @ozzysbar : a unique interpretation of a tribal voodoo mask. The inspiration blends the ancestral strength of the masks of Rapa Nui with the ritual expressiveness of Andean cultures, particularly the Diablada, creating a powerful and contemporary cultural dialogue.
Created in collaboration with good friend this piece has become one of my personal favorites due to its technical complexity, conceptual richness, and the creative synergy behind every detail. @ozzysbar @ozzy.barmen @davidmarozz
